Action Activists
A downloadable comic
by Fred Van Lente and Ryan Dunlavey
The Action Activists comic book series was created in partnership with The New York City Department of Education and is integrated into the national largest public school system as part of their social studies core curriculum. But it also fits right in with all of Fred and Ryan's other non-fiction comics, employing the funny-but-factual non-fiction comic book storytelling style they perfected with Action Philosophers and Action Presidents. And it has talking animals.
This is a digital collection of all the issues produced to date in a free/pay-what-you-want bundle:

Action Activists #2 details significant moments in New York City activist history.
Action Activists #3 is about famous immigrant activists throughout US History.
Action Activists #4 investigates what a world without civic action would look like.
Action Reporters #1 tells 3 real-life tales of journalists who sparked social progress.
How To Be An Action Activist #1 is a special storybook introduction to civics for early readers, starring the popular Squirrel and Pigeon sidekick characters.
